Rachel D. Adams, LADAC II
Director, East Tennessee Programs
Rachel D. Adams, LADAC II, began her career in education, dedicating the first decade of her professional life as a middle school teacher. A series of transformative events led her to explore the world of attachment theory, and the profound effects of substance use disorder, trauma and ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) on individuals, families, and communities. This shift in focus inspired Rachel to transition into the behavioral health field, where she obtained licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. Rachel spent the next decade helping develop and lead programs aimed at supporting vulnerable women, children, and families, particularly in the Appalachian region. Her work has focused on guiding individuals through intervention and treatment programs, with a commitment to empowering those affected by trauma and addiction. Inspired by Father Gregory Boyle's words: “Compassion stands in awe of what people have to carry instead of in judgement of how they carry it”, this belief continues to shape her approach to the work, emphasizing compassion and long-term empowerment. Passionate about fostering positive change, Rachel is dedicated to creating lasting impact within families and communities, helping individuals not only overcome their challenges but also build the foundation for a thriving future.
